“Sound Advice with Allison Hagendorf” on www.MAXIM.com

This week’s column comes from Sin City. Yep, I’m talking VEGAS, baby! I’m hosting an event and discussion with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz (pictured below) about his role as an entrepreneur, businessman and brand. Although we talked about his many endeavors—from his book, clothing and merch company Clandestine, to his comic book mini-series Fall Out Toy Works—I made sure to get the scoop on his favorite Vegas bands, Vegas stories and, of course, his SOUND ADVICE.

Allison Hagendorf and Pete Wentz talk on the coach.
Alllison: What’s the best Sound Advice anyone’s given you?
Pete: Jay-Z [said to me] before we played the Garden, “There’s a lot of people out there, don’t fuck it up.”

Allison: What’s some Sound Advice you’ve give to bands first starting their careers?
Pete: Don’t be afraid of failure. Most of us fail hundreds of times before we succeed.

Allison: Who are your favorite bands from Vegas?
Pete: Panic! At the Disco, The Cab, The Killers, Wayne Newton.

Allison: What is your craziest Vegas story?
Pete: It started with absinthe. I don’t remember the rest.

Allison: What are your Top 5 Vegas-inspired songs?

Pete: “Luck Be a Lady” — Frank Sinatra

“Vegas Two Times” — Stereophonics

“Las Vegas Dealer” — Gomez

“Viva Las Vegas” — Elvis Presley

“Straight to the Top (Vegas)” — Tom Waits

BONUS PICK: Dean Martin’s Vegas Medley “Drink to Me Only”
